Jan 24 (Reuters) – Staff from the International Monetary Fund will visit El Salvador from Jan. 30 to Feb. 8, the fund said on Tuesday.
The visit to capital San Salvador will be led by mission chief Raphael Espinoza and will focus on the 2022 Article IV Consultation discussions with Salvadoran authorities, the fund said.
During article IV consultations, usually done annually, the IMF assesses a country’s economic and financial developments and discusses policies with local officials, as well as representatives of business, labor unions, and civil society. (Reporting by Rodrigo Campos Editing by Chris Reese)
