San Salvador, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) Authorities of El Salvador maintain the red alert for the municipalities of Ahuachapán and San Lorenzo, and green for the rest of the demarcations of the departments of Ahuachapán and Santa Ana, authorities informed.

The forecasts are maintained despite the fact that in the last days the aftershocks after the two major tremors reported on Sunday 15 and which were followed by 625 movements of lesser intensity until early this morning, decreased.

The major concerns of the authorities is to face solutions to the 886 affected houses, of which there are 514 uninhabitable and 304 with slight damages, as informed this morning by Civil Protection director, Luis Alonso Amaya.

‘While it is true, there has been a decrease in seismic activity, our teams will continue with permanent monitoring,’ Amaya said. According to the authorities, from 00:00 hours on Monday, January 23 until 00:00 hours today, seven aftershocks were registered, for a total of 60 since Sunday 22.
