Tropical Storm Sara: Significant Flooding In Central America

Tropical Depression Sara, with winds under 35 mph, has weakened but continues to cause flooding in Central America. The lingering system has devastated communities with heavy rain.

Sara is expected to dissipate soon, becoming a remnant low over the Gulf of Mexico. However, it will still bring rain to the US Gulf Coast. Heavy rain is forecast for the Gulf Coast early next week. A slight risk of excessive rainfall on Tuesday could lead to localized flooding.

After Sara, the tropics are expected to quiet down. The NHC predicts no tropical cyclone formation in the next seven days. Despite calm conditions ahead, Gulf Coast residents should stay vigilant. Even weakened systems like Sara can cause significant impacts.
